Factors Affecting Optimal Health:

Genetics: According to latest research results, genetics has only around a 10 percent influence on the state of your health. However, suboptimal health and lifestyle choices can activate the “bad” genes.

Lifestyle: Lifestyle factors such as diet, stress, physical activity, working habits, smoking, and alcohol consumption, may influence which genes are expressed. Healthy lifestyle practices can help keep the “bad” genes under control.

Stress: Chronic stress through unbalancing your neural circuitry leads to suboptimal health performance and speeds up the aging process. Stress management can prevent these changes and contribute to improved mood, boosted energy levels, and increase your cognitive potential and better immune system.

Sleep: Inadequate sleep quality can adversely affect your health and cause cognitive dysfunction and physiological changes that can lead to medical conditions. Getting a full night’s rest and especially deep sleep, is needed for proper rejuvenation.

Diet: Foods that do not match personal needs can cause inflammation through microbiome imbalance, which can negatively affect your overall health. A tailored diet and supplements to increase nutrient content take you one step closer to peak performance.

Exercise: It is essential to exercise, but not to excess. Overworking prevents the body from regeneration and causes physiological stress. Additionally, each person reacts to various types of exercise differently.

Your comprehensive, long-term health plan will be created by our medical experts is based on your personal needs, adapted to your life priorities and according to the points above.

Longevity Aging and DNA

Longevity Aging and DNA

Longevity, Aging and DNA

Aging is a part of everyday life. It is guaranteed to happen to everyone, eventually we all get old develop diseases slow down and eventually die of old age. We all understand it, but what if we actually don’t understand it and what if things didn’t have to be this way, what if we could slow down the clock and even turn it back. Researchers are developing ways to unlock the tools within own body to us, exactly for that.

The most important research carried out was on the epigenome. So what is an epigenome? In short, it is responsible for coiling up and turning on and off parts of a DNA string as required, depending on the parts of the DNA that is turned on and off means; the difference between creating a skin cell versus a nerve cell. Our DNA is effectively the code which tells our cells what to be. As we age, researchers believe that our DNA epigenomes unravel and other parts weren’t meant to be quelled becomes so effectively, and our bodies begin to create the wrong cells in the wrong places.

Aging is in fact something that our DNA tracks very accurately and quantitatively. This is how it’s done. DNA is made up of four different components called nucleobases, they are; A, C, T and G. They are paired together to make the famous double helix structure. Over the course of our lifetime, methyl groups which are just a carbon with three hydrogen’s, begin to attach to the C components of our DNA.

By measuring your DNA through a blood sample or a mouth swab, scientists with the help of AI can tell exactly how old you are based on how many methyl groups you have. This is called the Horvath clock. It is extremely accurate and can even predict when you will die. This is a recent discovery and it is not just an accurate measure of biological age, however, researchers believed that the clock itself is part of the aging mechanism. Hence, physically being able to dial back the hands of the clock could mean becoming physically younger. However, this appears to be one of many interconnected mechanisms that control aging.

Over our lifetime, epigenetic information is lost, much like a CD gets scratched over time and begins to glitch. The old theory was that our DNA information gets lost over time as we succumb to entropy. In the old theory, the damage comes through free radicals, oxidization, DNA mutations and damage. Researchers believe that we should throw that theory out. It is not the loss of DNA itself, but the on and off switches on our DNA, so is there a way to polish our genetic CD and get the information back, and if we push the reset button, how many times can we do it, Is there a limit?

The promising research being carried out now and in the future, will bring us a lot of good news, and in some word, the dream of longevity may become a reality.

Longevity and Aging

Longevity and Aging We all recognize aging when we see sagging skin, facial wrinkles, gray hair, muscle loss, increasing body fat, hearing loss, poor eyesight, faulty memory, and slower thinking and reactions. There are just a few of the manifestations of aging. While it is easy to point out an aging person, it is not so easy to define what aging is and why one person lives only 40 years while others live 100 or more.

There have always been stories and legends about miraculously long lives and people who regained their youth. Old legends told of magic potions that kept people young. How do people prevent getting old and live longer? These questions fascinate people, especially the scientists who study aging.

Since antiquity, people are endlessly searching for the fountain of youth, good health and to extend life span by searching magical potions and elixirs of life, to stay young while legends of miraculously long lives intrigue us. We live in modern times with our unprecedented fast space, sophisticated technology, material-based life and stressful emotional pressure, it is more necessary than ever to search for good health and keep mind-body in balance to delay the aging process.

The ancient Egyptian and Chinese people have a long history of interest in longevity and the search of immortality. Unfortunately, neither ancient Egyptian nor Chinese achieved their dreams. We still can’t turn lead into long life but, amazingly, we did not find the magic option of life but we have reached the moon.

As for the dream of achieving staying young and longevity, as time has passed, and modern science and medicine advanced, it is definitely and slowly coming true. Don’t you think that those who have lived up to 100 years or beyond are the blessed and fortunate ones in the world?

For this reason, aging is one of the most important obstacles to longevity, so what is aging? Is aging a debilitating disease? If so, aging may be treatable, like any other diseases. The truth is that aging is not a debilitating disease. It is a continuous, intrinsic, universal biological process, and a natural progressive human phenomenon. As we grow, there are some unavoidable pathological conditions or diseases that develop along with normal physiological changes. Statics show by the age of 40, most adults begin to notice the effects or signs of aging and begin to develop different adult diseases. No doubt, these pathological changes speed up the normal aging process. Aging maladies vary from heart diseases, arthritis, diabetes, obesity, auto-immune disorders, Alzheimer’s diseases, osteoporosis, and hearing and eye sight difficulties. Many simply feel tired, anxious, depressed and unfulfilled. They may also feel out of shape and complain of aches and pains, all of which may be sub-clinical signs and symptoms of aging. Although the degenerative process that lead to aging is inevitable, we can delay or slow down aging by understanding exactly what aging is, the causes of the aging process, and the right strategies to prevent it prolong our life span.

what is lon

What Is Longevity ?

What Is Longevity?

Longevity ? Those of us alive will be the longest-lived generation in history. Lengthy and productive lives are not privilege of our great-grand-children, but the probable destiny of most of us. People everywhere desire to live long, productive, happy and healthy lives, hence the word “longevity” has several meanings. “Longevity” is sometimes used as a synonym for “life expectancy” in demography. In additional to  longevity is defined as the capability to survive past the average age of death (De Benedictis and Franceschi, 2006).

However, the term longevity is sometimes meant to refer only to especially long-lived members of a population, whereas life expectancy is always defined statistically as the average number of years remaining at a given age. So the meaning of the term ‘longevity’ means long life, endurance and prolonged existence. The swelling of the population of people aged 100 years and above has provided researchers with an opportunity to offer responses to one of the most fundamental questions about human health and longevity. The main questions that come into being for the secrets of longevity are what does it take to live a long life? How much do diet, exercise and other lifestyle factors matter compared with good ‘genes’? and one of the most crucial questions is what is the quality of life amongst the elderly population?

Today’s science of human biology concludes that, in optimal climatic-geographical, social, economic, hygienic-dietary and other similar circumstances, the life span should be an average of 100 years. Preventive medicine instructs us to adhere to the so-called healthy habits and taking responsibility for personal health, because until people themselves understand and accept as their own “lifestyle” life according to the “Gods”, that is by natural laws, doctors cannot change anything about their health and the length of their lives.

There are many secrets of longevity and some of them are mentioned as follows:

  • When a person is doing any sort of work which is time consuming, he or she must take breaks in between especially this is required of an older person who is above 80 years of age; working for hours at a stretch should be avoided in old age.
  • At the old age, a person is required to remain ambulatory and in order to implement this function, it is mandatory for a person to be active such as getting involved in some sports, gardening, preparing meals, painting, and making use of fewer labor saving devices.
  • It is essential to create a healthy social network, communicating with people around, making friends and so forth. Absence of a social network may be detrimental and lead to severe loneliness which may even shorten the life span of an individual. Loneliness is disadvantageous for people of all ages, but for senior citizens it may lead to depression and melancholy, hence it is vital for them to create a social network to avoid this problem.

Longevity and endurance are the factors that every individual wants to achieve and in order to attain a prolonged existence, it is essential to take number of factors under consideration; one has to adopt every means and sources to keep oneself healthy and wholehearted in every possible manner.
